When we think of an electric car, the first thing that pops into our minds is that the vehicles, like the Mitsubishi i, produce zero emissions and require no gas, saving drivers in the Hickory area time and money at the pump. What we might not think about is how to use EVs as mobile power reserves. Mitsubishi is however, and it's setting out to research the possibility.

Already proving their first major market electric vehicle is a lean, mean, green driving machine, the 2012 Mitsubishi i-MiEV is perfect for urban commuting with its 126 miles per gallon-electric in the city, and 99 MPGe on the highway. Mitsubishi still has a lot left to prove with the electric hatchback, however, and it's going to push the limits of the i-MiEV by entering a modified version in the famous Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.

Mitsubishi Proves They Know How to Go Green

What's the single greenest vehicle for 2012, you ask? Why that would be the Mitsubishi i, the first all electric vehicle from our favorite Japanese automaker. The i tops the 2012 EPA fuel economy charts, and we here at Hickory Mitsubishi can't honestly say that we're surprised.

The 2012 Mitsubishi i received an amazing 112 combined MPGe (miles per gallon equivalent) rating, and the tiny EV is turning more heads each day…

Mitsubishi Continues to Innovate the i

The Mitsubishi i is already making headlines around the world for its green nature, sleek design, and money saving technology. However, the Japanese automaker has higher hopes for their introductory EV than just saving the environment. Rather, Mitsubishi is hoping that the i can actually give back some energy to homes in need, in case of an emergency. And, to make sure that compatibility isn't an issue, they're reportedly in talks to support…

Mitsubishi May Go All EV

The 2012 Mitsubishi I (the American version of the i-MiEV) is the first in a long line of what Mitsubishi hopes to be an all electric line up. That does not mean Mitsubishi will completely stop making gas or hybrid vehicles, but they will build all their cars to be easily transformed into EV-ready autos.

"Every new car we develop will also be able to be driven by electricity," Helmut Bauer, Mitsubishi's German spokesman…

Mitsubishi Brings First EV to Costa Rica

Mitsubishi hopes to bring the first electric vehicles to the country of Costa Rica. Already making it's way across Japan and the UK, Mitsu's i-MiEV (or the "Mitsubishi I" as it will be named in the US) might be the champion of South American electric cars.

Ariel Aizenman said Costa Rica was chosen to be the first 'America' to have Mitsubishi's iMiEV, even before the United States, because of its environmental record…

The First Mitsubishi i-MiEV Deliveries

The initial run of the Mitsubishi i-MiEV has been released globally. And so far things are looking good.

First deliveries of the Mitsubishi i-MiEV start on January 1st, 2011, over in the United Kingdom. Later in the year, the United States will receive their first run of the i-MiEV - which will be renamed the Mitsubishi I.

Mitsubishi's zero emission plug-in electric vehicle will be the first beneficiary of the country's £5000 governments subsidy?

Mitsubishi i-MiEV Becomes I

Mitsubishi Motors is gearing up to release their i-MiEV electric vehicle soon in the United States. But if you think the name is a bit convoluted, so does Mitsubishi. So they're renaming it as they "I" - yes, just I.

Mitsu's I was introduced on the second media day at the 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show. The five-door hatchback electric car comes with a range of 100 miles in Japan - approx 75 miles in
