Anthony Cook – Technician

Wednesday, February 5th, 2014

We are very pleased to have Anthony on our team of technicians at Hickory Mazda Mitsubishi. Anthony has worked with our dealership for over two years and brings a wealth of knowledge.

“I’ve always worked on cars. Since I was young I’ve been interested in all things automotive. I work on all my own vehicles. Right now, I have a 4-wheel drive Jeep. I’m from Catawba which has some great trails to go 4-wheeling on. There’s always a good group of people out there.

I also have a 1985 Ford Mustang that I am restoring. I’ve already rebuilt the engine, it’s got a 351 Windsor. Now I’m working on the body so I can get ready to paint. There’s a few more dents to remove. I think I’m going to choose Ford’s Grabber blue for the exterior color,” says Anthony.

When asked what keeps his interest in the automotive industry, Anthony said “it would be boring if things stayed the same all the time, but technology is always evolving so that you are always learning and perfecting your skills.”

Ed Thompson our Service Manager, said of Anthony, “He is a brilliant technician. What impresses me about Anthony is that he is basically self taught, yet one of our most knowledgeable technicians when compared to others that have been in the industry for years. He is very smart and very humble about his knowledge.”

Technician of the month – April

We are pleased to announce our Shop Foreman Richard Rudzilo as our Technician of the Month. Richard has been a mechanic for over 25 years. He moved down from New Jersey to be closer to family and enjoy our light winter weather.

Richard choose at the young age of 17 to go into the automotive industry after taking mechanical classes at his vocational high school. His 1st car a Blue 77 Oldsmobile Cutlass was the 1st vehicle he ever worked on. While starting to make repairs on it he realized that his interest in the auto industry was growing and that he was a natural.

Hobby wise Richard is a huge motorcycle fan. “I like them all,” he says, “if I had to pick a favorite it would be Harley. The best part of riding a motorcycle is that you can go anywhere. All you have to do is get on and ride, you’ll be somewhere brand new in no time. Every ride is better then the last.”

Chris Osborne our Service Manager choose to recognize Richard this month because, “he is a very strong team leader. The technicians respect his opinion and direction.”
