2015 mitsubishi lancerWhen you think of the Mitsubishi brand, safety probably isn’t the first thing that comes to mind. But the fact is, Mitsubishi is making vehicles that families are choosing due to their safety. The most recent addition to the safe Mitsubishi vehicle lineup is the 2014 Mitsubishi Lancer. The popular Lancer was recently named a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. To obtain the safety rating, the Lancer had to perform well on the new small overlap front crash test – a test that is well-known for its difficult rating. Half of the vehicles that were subjected to the test in the Lancer’s segment actually received a grade of “marginal” or “poor,” which makes the Lancer one of the safer picks in the category. (more…)

Mitsubishi Reinventing Real-Time Information Technology

Thursday, October 10th, 2013

Forgive us for going out on a limb here, but we’re of the mindset that sitting in traffic is one of the worst things ever. It’s a good thing this lineup ours is as fuel-efficient as it is, because with gas prices on the rise, there’s nothing worse than having to sit there in gridlock as it burns away. Luckily for us, our favorite automaker here at Hickory Mitsubishi has always done their part to help keep us out of traffic’s way.

And now that they’ve teamed up with HERE – a subsidiary of Nokia – never again will we be out of the loop.

Just recently, Mitsubishi announced that they’ll be introducing HERE Traffic to our lineup in the near future. Now, this is not your grandfather’s traffic alert system. Thanks to its use of HD Radio technology, Mitsubishi drivers in the US will be able to receive information on four times more roads than was previously possible as well as real-time updates on road conditions at ten times the average speed.

Not only will it be saving you time and money on the road and at the pump, but knowledge is safety when you’re behind the wheel.

“Our commitment to bring the most innovative technologies to our drivers continues to move forward at an aggressive pace, and offering real-time traffic, weather and fuel prices by HD from HERE is another natural next step,” says Bryan Arnett, Senior Manager of Product Planning at Mitsubishi Motors North America. “Mitsubishi owners will now experience a more enjoyable drive than will let them feel safer while driving on the road.”1

If you’d like to learn more about the services it offers, feel free to visit the experts in our car parts department at our dealership here in Hickory, NC. After all, it’s the future today.
